Just go check the contents of each book, and start with the one that you think is suitable for you. I also really enjoyed the images and different types of questions used in the book for better understanding of the material. Raymond Murphy 2003 Essential Grammar in Use is available with a promotional bonus extra CD-ROM. I first bought it about 8 years ago, when my English teacher at school recommended it. The second edition of Grammar in Use: Intermediate contains nine units of new material, more exercises, and a free Audio CD with recordings of example sentences. A study guide is placed at the end of the book, which contains exercises that when solved reveal what topics student needs improvement on, and suggests the unit numbers the student should study and thus the reader can figure out which units to study and which to omit.I think this is just the perfect book for learning English grammar. The author advises readers to flip over and find whichever topics they feel they need improvement on. ![]() The book's units are ordered according to the lesson simplicity, or starts with the basic topics and goes up to more advanced topics. The book is divided into units, each unit (typically of two facing pages) has the lesson itself on the left page, while the right page contains exercises on that lesson. There are three editions of the book (with answer key or without answer key or with answer key, eBook and audio). Though the book was titled as a self-study reference, the publisher states that the book is also suitable for reinforcement work in the classroom.
